The New York Islanders Girls Elite Hockey Program, established in 2016 by Alexis Moed in conjunction with the New York Islanders and Northwell Health Ice Center, is committed to the support and development of girls ice hockey on Long Island and in the NY Metropolitan area.  Beginning six years ago with just 27 players across two teams, the program has grown over 250% to include over 100 players across six teams and recently established a new multi-year partnership deal with National Grid starting with the 2021-2022 Season.

Through the new partnership with National Grid, the Islanders Girls Elite program will provide ten eligible players with financial assistance through scholarship funds, additional advertising and marketing support, and a variety of women’s empowerment and community service events.

“Our partnership with National Grid is very exciting and will provide the program with many benefits. With additional valuable events and workshops, and financial assistance players can continue to grow and develop under the New York Islanders Elite banner,” said Alexis Moed, President of the New York Islanders Girls Elite Hockey Program.

“National Grid is proud to be the presenting sponsor of the Girls Elite Hockey Program. Investing in the development of our youth is just one of the ways we're giving back to the communities we serve,” said Haley White, Long Island Community Coordinator for National Grid.
