Northwell Health Ice Center is proud to host the Islanders Elite Prospect Camp this summer. Designed with the individual player in mind, here is the chance for all 10U to 14U hockey players, both boys and girls, to train in small groups and participate in 5 full days of on- and off-ice programs.

This special one-week camp will feature appearances by select Islanders coaches and former NHL players, as well as handpicked members of the Northwell Health ice Center staff--all dedicated to teaching and providing the best instruction and assessment.

ON ICE SESSIONS
The on ice curriculum is designed to facilitate skill development for individual players to utilize in group play focusing on fundamentals and shift by shift skills needed to succeed at the highest levels of hockey.

  • Station based on ice sessions with low coach to player ratios ensuring individual feedback and instruction
  • Small area games utilized by USA Hockey's ADM program to create game related simulation that will enable players to develop their hockey IQ
  • Small area stations to work on specific skills - shooting, passing, skating, agility, on ice athleticism and goaltender development - with a focus on repetition to build routine

OFF ICE SESSIONS
The off ice workouts are designed around sport specific exercises for hockey players, by hockey players to teach players how to train themselves in developing the actions needed to improve speed and strength on ice.

Other off ice sessions include:

  • 1-on-1 sessions in the shooting stations
  • Video session critiques/assessments of camp performance
  • Game strategy and game play
